Prof. Dr. habil. ArkadyShipulin (Chipouline)Shipulin hasmore than 25 years of experience in academic and industrial research and development, working in the USA, Germany, and Russia. He has a Ph.D. in Physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and a Habilitation in Experimental Physics from the Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena, Germany. Prof. Shipulinis an author and co-author of hundredsof publications, conference presentations, patents, and books in the field of photonics, including fiber optic communication, optical sensing, photonic integrated circuits, nanooptics, and quantum optics. He has also taught multiple lecture courses in Universities in the USA, Germany, and Russia.
Arkady Shipulin holds a Chair professor position in Harbin Institute of Technology, China. He acquired his international experience during his work at University of Salt Lake City (USA) in 1999-2001, Telecommunication Industry in the USA (CORVIS Corporation, recipient of an Award of Excellence) in 2001-2005, and at the Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena, Germany in 1995-1999 and 2005-2015, worked as a Team Leader at the Institute for Microwave Engineering and Photonics, Department of Electrical Engineering, Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, in 2015-2017.
Prof. Shipulin combines fundamental knowledge and industrial competences to bridge the gap between academic ideas and commercial product development. New generation of optical components and devices for optical communication, optical sensing, optical LIDARs, and optical computing can be designed using Photonic Integrated Circuits - modern nomenclature for photonic integration, using classic and quantum technologies.
